Calming Down

Unfortunately it is a cloudy day and I cannot get a screen grab up, but the volcano seems to be dying out over the last few days. The plume has slowed to a trickle and with any luck there won't be a threat to our travel due to ash. Never one to speak too soon though, I am going to keep an eye on the situation as best I can.

A Little More Angry Today....

She's looking a little more angry today than the previous days, but the airport is open and flights seem to be on schedule.
I have to stop watching this thing!

Volcano!

A view of Eyjafjallajokull from Hvolsvollur, Iceland on May 10, 2010 @ 9:30PM their time. Having been in this area many times, I am wondering what the ash has done to some of my favorite places.

We won't be going toward this area during this trek. In fact we are going in the opposite direction and will be far from the effects in the northwest. There is still a chance that the volcano could have an effect on air traffic when we go, but with any luck, things will have changed in the next 3 months.

Bill,
Any chance the volcano will affect the trip flights or the ground itinerary?
